Youngstown Area Roller Derby has been around for 15 years. We began in 2008 as the Little Steel Derby Girls, a name honoring Youngstown History. We re-branded in 2023 in an effort to recover from the pandemic. This rebrand has allowed us to be more gender inclusive and has helped to avoid confusion with teams that have similar names. We c

We currently practice at the Calvin Center for the Arts in Downtown Youngstown.

Our mission is to empower and inspire athletes, volunteers, and fans while fostering the growth of this competitive sport through training, community engagement, and athleticism at all levels.

The sport of roller derby is funded almost entirely through its member's monthly dues and fundraisers. We welcome skaters year round! There is no previous experience necessary, as we teach derby from the ground up. Feel free to stop by the Calvin Center for the Arts on Sunday from 5-8 p.m. or message us on Facebook!
